What Is Artist Of Color?

Artists Of Color is not a club but a project to collect and house the works of exceptional visual artists, stock artists, craft artisans, photographers and writers from an ethnic background here at Deviant Art. Also any non-Western/European theme visual or written deviation by any deviant can be featured here.

Is This A Club?

Artists Of Color is NOT a club, therefore there are no members, contests or submissions; instead, artists are invited to allow the project to showcase their best deviations in the gallery as well as in journal and news article features.

What Does The Project Do For It's Participants?

As part of the project Participants:
1. Are represented in the project’s gallery;
2. Have a permanent journal feature;
3. Be featured in project news articles;
4. Have their best deviations suggested for Daily Deviations.

I'm Not Interested Or Do Not Qualify For The Project, But I Support Ethnic Diversity. What Can I Do?

We ask that any deviant who would like to support the Artists Of Color Project please post our avatar or one of our stamps in your journal or shoutboard, favorite our news articles, and make deviation suggestions. If you add the project to your DEVWatch, we will watch you back.

I Want To Suggest A Deviant And/Or Their Art. What Should I Do?

If you know of any deviant who qualifies as a participant or who embraces ethnic diversity, please feel free to contact me by NOTE at this account or at my main account and let me know. I would appreciate the inclusion of three to five thumbs in the note for me to view.

I Want To Participate In The Project. How Can I Do That?

If you qualify to participate, please send me a note with "JOIN PROJECT" in the Subject line. I will view your gallery and make a decision.

Please understand that you may not automatically be accepted into the project. I'm not an "elitist", but my purpose is to locate and display the works of worthy deviants. If you are just getting started in your field of art but you want to join a club, please visit one of the club listing websites such as ~List-inc and *clubdirectory to find other clubs that will fit your needs.

If you are accepted you will receive a note with more information, including a few questions for a short biography. The biography can be as detailed as you like or you do not have to anwer any questions if you prefer not to.

Who Is The Project Administrator?

I am known as *thefantasim and I also have a dark/mature/emotional account as *thesassysim. I am located in the United States currently living in Arizona. Although I am a trained painter and printmaker, I am a self-taught digital artist and I've only been creating photomanipulations since January of 2005. I currently create with Paint Shop Pro9. I joined Deviant Art in July, 2005 and I also administrate at *The-Heart, co-moderate at *assorted-nuts, and I am a staff member at *DeviantDolls.

Other clubs I belong to are: =abstractsilence, :devtheoccultclub:, =DarkArtists-Inc, *DesigningDivas, *ManipulateThis, *EliteArtists, =The-Mask-Club, *TheAntlerGang, *EarthyBeginnings, and *RawEm0tion.

Please don't hesitate to contact me anytime if you have any questions or to make any suggestions. The project is still very new and I love to hear what others think. I already appreciate the support I'm getting and I hope this project is very successful.
